The Kintampo Waterfalls is expected to resume normal operations in October 2017, the tourism ministry has announced.
The tourist site was shut down early this year after a disaster saw about 20 people die and several others injured following a heavy storm on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Most of the victims were students of the Wenchi Senior High School while others were tourists.
The Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Catherine Afeku has revealed that thorough works to make the facility friendlier and safer will soon be completed.
She said the ministry has a pragmatic blue print to transform the sector.
“We have had updates that the Kintampo waterfalls that we shut down as a result of safety issues will be operational between September and October. Work is seriously in progress. It’s the same thing we are doing at most of the tourist sites,” she told Starr News.
