A 32-year-old kitchen staff of Koforidua Asokore SDA Kwasi Agyeman who alleged stole foodstuff meant for the school has been remanded into prison custody.
He has been charged with stealing and causing damage and for unlawful entry. He pleaded not guilty having admitted the offence earlier in his caution statement at the police station.
Agyemang was arrested when he attempted to smuggle quantities of food items including bags of maize, millet, sugar among others.
Information gathered by Starr News indicates that the incident occurred Saturday when the school was busy with its Church Service but unfortunately he was noticed and an alarm was raised for his arrest.
According to sources, the suspect committed the act with an accomplice who is now at large. The suspect reportedly threw the foodstuffs over the wall for his accomplice to carry them away.
A search in the bush by students helped to retrieve some of the items but his accomplice managed to abscond.
The headmistress of the School, Hilda Yeboah, confirmed the incident to Starr News adding that the School has officially lodged a complaint at the Effiduase Police station and is committed to cooperating with the Police to ensure that the suspect is prosecuted.
